How to make great TeaUpdated 2 years ago

Making a cup of tea is a great way to unwind, relax and find a brief moment in the day to focus on yourself.  Most of us know how we like our cuppa, but there are some tips that can easily heighten the infusion you end up with. These are the important things we focus on when we prepare tea for ourselves.

Choose Organic Tea Leaves

Tea has such a beautiful simplicity. When it comes to choosing tea leaves, we feel there should be nothing that gets in the way of the amazing leaves infusing in water. Choosing organic tea means you avoid all sorts of sprays and pesticides used in generic tea production.

Preheat Your Teapot

Before your infusion, add some hot water to your teapot and let it sit for a minute. Once the teapot feels hot, discard the water. Doing this will keep your infusion at the optimum temperature for longer, resulting in a greater infusion.

Use Scales

By weighing your tea you will be able to measure the perfect amount you need for the size of your teapot. This reduces the risk of under infusing or over infusing. All of our teas come with our guidelines on how much tea is needed per 100mL of water.

Use A Digital Kettle

Using the correct temperature of water is a really important step to getting the best flavour from your tea leaves. Too hot and you will kill many of the amazing antioxidants, flavours and aromas. Too cold and your tea will not have the conditions to release its full potential.

Time Your Infusion

With all these other tips in place, the final piece of the puzzle is to infuse your tea for the perfect amount of time. Using a timer and our recommendations for each tea, you will be able to judge the perfect moment to remove the leaves from your teapot.

Serve

We hope you notice some differences in your tea from now on. Now it's time to put the kettle on and make some tea for yourself and those around you :)
